Australia regains position in Global T-20 Ranking On Tuesday, 8th September, two strong contenders of world cricket competed against each other in Southampton. Both Australia and England displayed a markable performance in the T-20 series of three matches.

While England, the founder of the game, won the series with a score of 2-1, Australia marked a hole in the ranking chart by gaining back its position in the global T-20 rankings.

England had set an easy chase of 146 runs before the Australian team. However, the Australians lost hope when they lost three wickets against seventeen runs. Though they had vested a lot in David Warner, a dynamic opener, Australians saw themselves losing the game. The situation worsened when Adil Rashid sent the best Aussie boys back to the pavilion.

It was only after Marsh and Ashton Agar got down into the field that Australia witnessed the game change. The two flipped the entire game and bagged a consolation win for their team with three balls still in hand, and Mitchell Marsh still playing at 39 runs.

Mitchell Marsh, who hit the winning runs, was acknowledged as the man of the match. In his talks with Media, he cited that it was a great and overwhelming experience to play the game after six months, and contributing to the team’s success felt heavenly. Though Marsh had expected his game to be a bit easier, the young all-rounder felt happy not letting his team down. He did not miss the mention of the pressure on the field and the feel of victory after handling the field-pressure well.

After the exemplary performance shown by the star player, the Aussie team can play a strong bet on the 28-year-old Mitchell Marsh as a senior player in the T-20 world cup scheduled to be held in India next year.
